After staying one night in the busy Riyad and visiting the Majorelle Gardens, myself and David took a short taxi ride to Club Med Marrakech. We received the warmest of welcome’s prior to being taken to our wonderful room with a small patio and cool garden.
Everywhere smelt beautifully of local rose water, and the gardens are a pure delight to wander and relax. There are stunning waterways and an array of plants throughout the entire resort.
The choice of two magnificent swimming pools gave us a choice of chilling in the peaceful adult only Zen Zone or swimming long lengths in the beautifully designed main pool where we joined in the aqua & Zumba classes. At both pools, we always found comfortable loungers in either the sun or shade. The incredible staff were always on hand and happy to help. The bar was always open and to be able to enjoy drinks and tasty snacks around the pool throughout the day was a real treat.
As ever, the cuisine was outstanding with a good choice of both local dishes as well as European standard food for the less adventurous. The waiting staff were beyond helpful and charming, and the wines were excellent. Each meal was rounded up with the best tasting ice cream and a traditional mint tea.
There were plenty of activities and sports on offer, and I even joined a group on a mountain bike excursion outside the resort exploring the local area. It was a challenge, but well worth the effort.
Each evening was very special, but the white night was magical on another level. I can’t go into further details as I don’t want to spoil it for you for when you go but here’s a taster.
