I am really excited to share with you our experience to Cefalù, Club Med’s first Exclusive Collection resort in Europe. Nestled atop picturesque sea cliffs, this luxury all-inclusive resort in Sicily enjoys breath-taking views overlooking Cefalù Bay. Step into a world of pure luxury.
Cefalù is the perfect relaxing break for anyone travelling from the UK. Incredible quick and easy journey, with simple Italian luxury and elegance throughout the resort.
Following a short flight followed by an easy transfer, We were given the warmest welcome by Barq and the G.O. team. Our luggage had already been taken in true Club Med efficiency and was waiting for us along with a delicious plate of food in case we arrived hungry.
The accommodation is beautiful whether you choose superior rooms in low 2 storey buildings or stay in The Villettas (little wooden villas set amongst the natural rock in the gardens are stunning. Each Villetta has a sea view or garden view and a personal balcony with loungers outside as well as comfortable seating inside.
The exquisite bathroom has a stand along bath with a substantial separate shower and toilet facilities. As ever Club Med provides everything one needs for one’s personal care.
The luxury bed is beyond comfortable, and however tempting it is just to relax in your own personal space, the rest of the village is just as stunning. One has a choice of walking to the La Rocca (the main all-inclusive restaurant) or calling for a golf cart. The G.O.’s (Club Med staff) arrive quickly and are all charming and delighted to chat and tell you the best places to go during you visit.
La Rocca (the main restaurant) at Cefalù has an open air terrace during summer, with its fabulous view over the bay, or in the cool atmosphere of one of the air-conditioned dining rooms, this is the ideal place for savouring Italian or international cuisine.
The choice of sumptuous dishes is too vast to describe. Italian inspire food at its’ very best with choices of meat, fish vegetables fresh salads, pasta, and if that isn’t enough, the most beautiful deserts and fresh fruit and choices of ice cream daily. The wine is of an excellent quality, and you have the choice of red, white, or rose at every meal along with still or sparkling water. The dining room staff are charming, attentive, and helpful. There was an excellent Gluten Free section and plenty of choices of non-dairy milks too. The restaurant is open from breakfast through to dinner.
The scenery at at Cefalù is breath taking from every angle whether you are strolling up to the Zen pool area, playing tennis or enjoying the activities and swimming at the main pool. We took some great walks down to the sea and enjoy refreshing swims in the clear water from the easy access purpose-built pontoons and swam over to the sandy beach. The choices are endless.
Cefalù has been designed to work within its natural environment, so there are no high-rise buildings, and the resort blends into the hill it was built on. The resort has a Green Globe certification, guaranteeing responsible operations across components as: waste management, energy & water consumptions, responsible purchases, pollution limitation, biodiversity preservation.
We took an enjoyable 30-45 min walk along the sea front to the nearby village of Cefalu which offers a range of local shops and the beautiful Duomo di Cefalù (Cathedral Cefalù) a must see as it is It is one of nine structures included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Arab-Norman Palermo and the Cathedral Churches of Cefalù and Monreale. You will also find an abundance of coffee and ice cream cafes in Cefalù.
Depending on the time of year travelling to Club Med Cefalù you have 29 activities to choose from and also 2 swimming pool. The activities include Archery, Cardio and weights room, Fitness School, Football, Tennis, Volleyball, Sailing (Summer Only), Yoga School with Heberson, Stand Up Paddle boarding (Summer Only), Hiking, Scuba Diving (Summer Only), Kayaking (Summer Only)
We took part in various activities including aqua aerobics, yoga and salsa classes. The tennis facilities are outstanding with first class lessons on hand.
