Following a short flight to Malaga, we hired a car and drove ourselves to Club Med Marbella rather than choosing a transfer. It is a simple drive and easy to find, you then have the freedom to tour the area should you choose to be independent. Alternatively, there are a range of interesting trips that can be booked from the resort.
As ever, we were given a warm Club Med welcome with refreshments on our arrival.
Our room overlooked the main pool, Marbella Town, and the glistening Mediterranean Sea. I also checked out the non-sea view rooms which were just as stunning with a wonderful colourful mountain view. The Andalusian colour schemes throughout the resort vary from floor to floor. Each piece of artwork throughout the resort is breathtakingly stunning.
The all-inclusive stunning Arab-Andalusian inspired restaurant has the most incredible view over the bay, and there is always plenty of choice for either indoor or outdoor seating. The choice is too vast to describe. Spanish paella and plenty of choice of European inspired dishes including numerous choices of meat, fish vegetables fresh salads, pizza, and pasta, all followed by exceptional patisserie, deserts, fresh fruit, and choices of ice cream daily. The top-quality wine is included with all your meals, and you have the choice of red, white, or rose along with still or sparkling water.
The choice of five pools around this lush resort including an indoor pool for the cooler weather means you always have somewhere to sunbathe or swim. Children have a choice of pools, and even have their own water play area and a zip-wire and mini-gold to keep the whole family entertained. The Children’s clubs are cleverly designed and even have their own sheltered pool for added activities.
Club Med Marbella has world experts in Trapeze and Circus skills ready to train all guests of every age and ability. The super skilled performers also produce a show for your evening’s entertainment which will blow you away.
We took a stroll up to the Zen pool, a quiet area for adults only where you are welcomed with a smile and a cool drink, coffee or freshly made fruit smoothly of the day. Drinks and snacks are provided throughout the day. The pool is a great size for swimming lengths or simply just to cool down. The Zen area offers stunning views of Marbella and the sea, and comfortable sun loungers’ beds in the sun or shade.
Club Med Marbella offers the best quality new tennis and Padel courts in the area. Top quality lessons are available for both types of tennis and golf. Padel tennis has been around Marbella for nearly 50 years but is a fairly new racket sport for us Brits. It is super fun and must be tried. There is an excellent archery area with lessons included in your stay along with a fully equipped gym and a range of fitness activities of all levels.
It is just a short stroll to the picturesque town and beach of Marbella, lined with white houses, golden beach, and plenty of shopping opportunities.
Club Med is located both close to Estepona and Torremolinos offer you the opportunity to discover Spain and immerse yourself in the fascinating and historical culture of the region.
We can offer you partial week at certain time of the year, so if you need a mood boosting spot of sunshine without 10 hours of flying – Club Med Marbella is your resort to book.

Safari & Club Med: The Perfect Pairing

What if your next holiday could combine beautiful beaches, exciting activities, family relaxation and the unforgettable experience of an African safari?
Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari brings these experiences together in KwaZulu-Natal, one of South Africa’s most naturally beautiful regions. It is an exciting choice for couples, families and adventurous travellers who want more than an ordinary beach holiday.
A Club Med resort beside the Indian Ocean
Club Med’s South Africa beach resort enjoys a coastal setting in KwaZulu-Natal, approximately 45 minutes from Durban. Here, green landscapes meet golden beaches and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
The resort has been designed for guests who want to relax while still having plenty to discover. Days can be spent beside the pool, walking along the beach, trying a new activity or simply enjoying the ease of a Club Med all-inclusive holiday.
KwaZulu-Natal is known for its subtropical climate and striking natural scenery. Its location also makes it possible to combine time beside the sea with an authentic wildlife adventure.
An all-inclusive South Africa holiday
Club Med takes much of the work out of planning a holiday. Meals, drinks and a broad programme of sports and activities are included, subject to the arrangements applying to the chosen booking.
The South Africa resort is home to Club Med’s first-ever surf school, making its Indian Ocean setting particularly special. Whether guests are eager to try surfing or prefer a more restful pace, the resort offers opportunities for both activity and relaxation.
There are also family facilities and children’s programmes catering for different ages. While younger travellers enjoy supervised activities and make new friends, parents can take time to relax and enjoy the resort.
For those seeking an elevated experience, the resort also includes an Exclusive Collection space with enhanced accommodation and services.
Add a safari at Vikela Safari Lodge
A visit to South Africa would not feel complete without experiencing its extraordinary wildlife.
A stay at Club Med Vikela Safari Lodge can be added to the beach resort holiday. Located within an extensive private game reserve, the lodge offers a contrasting experience surrounded by the sights and sounds of the South African wilderness.
Guests can join twice-daily game drives, with opportunities to encounter some of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife, including the animals traditionally known as the Big Five. Accommodation in luxurious safari tents brings together comfort and a sense of adventure.
Stays of one to three nights can be incorporated into the wider Club Med experience. This makes it possible to enjoy a beach holiday and safari without having to organise two completely separate trips.
Is Club Med South Africa suitable for families?
Club Med South Africa is particularly appealing to families seeking adventure without sacrificing comfort.
Family accommodation, children’s clubs, a family-friendly pool and a wide selection of activities help different generations enjoy the holiday at their own pace. Surfing is available for eligible children, while the safari lodge offers family-focused facilities and wildlife experiences.
Seeing South African wildlife in its natural surroundings can be a wonderfully memorable experience for children and adults alike.
A wonderful choice for couples
The resort is not only for families. Couples can enjoy beach time, sports, good food and quieter areas created for relaxation.
Combining the coast with a short safari stay makes this an attractive option for a honeymoon, anniversary or special celebration. It offers contrasting experiences within one journey: peaceful mornings beside the ocean, active afternoons and the excitement of seeing wildlife in the bush.
